Former policeman tackles actor playing burglar during film shoot

A former policeman responded with his law enforcement instincts this week when he pounced on a man who ran down a UK street wearing a balaclava. Unfortunately, the burglar was an actor shooting a film scene — and the arrest wasn't in the script.

The Telegraph reported actor Jason Redshaw was dashing down a street in Sedbergh, Cumbria, during a shoot for the film 27, Memory Lane, in which he plays a burglar, when a man in a brown coat grabbed him and pinned him against the wall.

"Where do you think you're going?" the ex- special ops policeman told the actor, according to the Telegraph.

He might not have gone far at all if the film's director, Luke Hupton, hadn't approached to explain the mistake. The Telegraph reported the former policeman laughed once he realized what had happened.

A similar film shoot mix-up happened in Glendora, California this August when a group of students who were filming a coffee shop hold-up scene scared a resident passing by the store's window, who called police, according to KTLA.

KTLA reported police surrounded the shop and demanded the students drop their fake weapons. One of the students didn't listen and he was nearly shot, according to the story.
