Penguins caught red-handed trying to escape from their enclosure

It’s a scene straight out of the “Madagascar” movies: a group of crafty penguins tried to escape from the Odense Zoo in Denmark.

Unfortunately for them, the penguins were caught by their keeper after leaving behind very distinctive footprints.

Alongside the video posted on YouTube, a spokesman for the Odense Zoo jokingly wrote: “Perhaps our penguins have watched the penguins of Madagascar a bit too much,” the Daily Mail reports.

The zoo staff member is seen following the imprints of flippers down the corridor to reveal the culprits waddling their way towards the exit.

As the zoo keeper appears, the penguins hilariously pick up their speed to get away. They run into a dead end and quickly turn around to look for another exit as they pass by the zoo staff.

One of the birds voices its frustration and honks as it runs around the corner heading back towards its enclosure.

Even though their escape didn’t work accordingly to plan, the five penguins can be applauded for their valiant effort.
