High school teachers read mean tweets from their students

Be careful what you tweet, you never know who’s reading them.

The video production club from Los Alamitos High School in California decided it would be fun if they created a new segment for their YouTube channel.

In the fashion of Jimmy Kimmel’s popular segment, “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets”, the idea was that teachers would read mean tweets that their students had posted about them on Twitter. #hilarious…but secretly a little mean.

Luckily, all the teachers agreed to be a part of the video and they took the tweets in good humour — even if they were a little harsh.

Students shared their true feelings about their teachers in the tweets. Some were offensive, some were flattering, and some were both.

Take Mr. Huber for example, who one student tweeted, “i thought mr. huber was perfect until i saw his bald spot. #disappointed”. Mr. Huber, a fairly attractive gentleman, was a good sport about the tweet, even if his bald spot was probably a soft spot for him, as well.

As REM’s “Everybody Hurts” plays on in the background of the video, teachers continue to read the tweets in all seriousness.

One student tweeted, “mr. smith is so tall that whenever i talk to him i end up looking up his nostrils. #nosehairs.”

It’s nearly impossible not to laugh when you see the blank stare on some of these teachers’ faces. I guess the truth hurts! Then again, what high school kid wouldn’t want the opportunity to give their teachers a little taste of embarrassment, right?

Some of them were just plain mean. “why is coach howard telling me how to run? #ironic?” read a tweet aimed at the not-so-fit high school coach. His expression is priceless…but it kind of breaks your heart a little.

The video ends with an important message, one that maybe everyone needs to be reminded of once in a while: “Be careful what you post online. You never know who might read it…”

Not everyone is made of glass, but remember, nobody is made of stone. Think before you post.
