Incredible photo shows underdog otter attacking an alligator

Ding! Otter: 1, Alligator: 0.

There seems to be a real dinner war among animals lately, and in the latest “who-can-eat-who” event, it was otter vs. alligator. This one seems a little one sided, no?

There’s no way this cute little cuddly otter has a chance against the alligator’s jaws o’death, right?

Dead wrong.

Though the otter may not looks so fierce, he went head to head with this alligator, tail spinning.

And wouldn’t you know it? This otter doesn’t mess around. The otter killed the alligator and made a meal out of him like nobody’s business!

It happened at Florida’s Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge in De Leon Springs, Florida.

Apparently, it is not unheard of for otters to go after predators of this nature.

Maybe it’s their oh-so-adorable appearance that makes them seemingly harmless to other creatures. I mean, really, who’s going to be threatened by this little guy? It’s actually a pretty genius predatory ploy … no one would ever suspect the adorable otter!

Photographer Geoff Walsh snapped images of the otter as he pulled his prize up onto the riverbank and devoured his alligator treat, “adorably” crunching down on his carcass.

You've got to hand it to the snake for enduring a 5-hour fight before constricting the crocodile to death and then eating it whole while onlookers watched.

Never underestimate the power of an underdog!
