Jordanian MP fires AK-47 at colleague in parliament

An AK-47 assault rifle has no place in a parliamentary debate, but a member of Jordan's parliament fired one at a fellow statesman on Sunday, according to the Telegraph.

Talal al-Sharif, a Jordanian Member of Parliament, has been charged with attempted murder after his fight with MP Qusay al-Damissi erupted into gunfire on Tuesday, the Telegraph reported.

The altercation began as an argument about parliamentary procedure, but it ended with shots fired, according to the story. Video footage published by Reuters shows the men yelling as others hold them back, and the sound of gunfire bangs from off-camera.

In a weaponless but vicious fight that took place in Ukraine's parliament this March, members of parliament pulled each others' hair and threw pencils.
