Kim Wilde’s drunken subway performance goes viral

Pop star Kim Wilde has brought Christmas cheer to London commuters and gone viral online with a drunken rendition of her 1981 hit "Kids in America" recorded by a fellow train passenger.

The British singer who made it big with her hit Kids in America has gone viral on YouTube after she serenaded train commuters with the song.

Kim Wilde belts out Kids in America while her brother Ricky plays guitar. She follows it with a rendition of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and seems to be having a jolly good time with a pair of costume antlers on her head.

The video had over 1.4 million views on Tuesday morning. Wilde has worked as a landscape gardener, author, and TV host since the height of her musical fame in the '80s, according to her website.

The description below the video says Wilde was on her way home from a Christmas party for the radio station Magic FM, where she now works. She tweeted her amusement at the attention she was getting for the performance:

Despite describing herself on Twitter as "somewhat over refreshed," the comments suggest her drunken performance is earning more Christmas cheer than criticism.
