Man calls 911, asks police to investigate stolen Jell-O

3 Surprising Uses for Jell-O

A Pennsylvania man who takes his strawberry Jell-O time very seriously called 911 this month after his treat disappeared from the workplace refrigerator.

An employee at the Wakefern Food Corp. warehouse in Upper Macungie, Pa. called police to investigate the theft of his Jell-O from the break room, according to CBS News. The 39-year-old was mad because his food had been stolen before.

On the list of ridiculous 911 requests, this may fall below the flood of calls Connecticut dispatchers received in August when a cable outage interrupted the AMC drama Breaking Bad. Police in Fairfield posted on its Facebook page for residents to stop tying up emergency lines with cable complaints, leading to many headlines and even more shaking heads.

Police in New Hampshire arrested a woman this summer after she called 911 to ask for a pen, one of about ten calls she made to emergency services that month.

There also seems to be a 911 theme among those with food difficulties, such as another New Hampshire woman who police arrested in March after she reported a medical emergency, then asked for help ordering Chinese food when firefighters arrived, CBS reported.

Wish TV reported an Indiana man called 911 nine times in February to ask for a cheeseburger. Emergency dispatchers don't handle cheeseburger orders, but they do handle police matters: the man was arrested for abusing 911.
