The executive producer of the new Discovery Channel show Naked and Afraid found himself missing more than his clothes recently due to a horrendous snake bite that ate away a chunk of his flesh, according to a photo posted online.
Adventurer and television personality Bear Grylls tweeted a picture of a foot on Tuesday with a note saying it belonged to Steve Rankin, the producer of Man vs. Wild.
Rankin will also produce the new reality show, which sends pairs of strangers into the wilderness naked and without supplies, according to the Daily Mail. The tabloid reported in early April that Rankin had been bitten by a venomous snake in Costa Rica while filming the new show.
Now we have proof and be warned: it's graphic.

The bite and venom appear to have eaten through the tissue on the top of his foot, exposing his bones.

NBC has also created a new adventure reality show with the working title Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls, which Grylls recently tweeted will premiere in July.

It looks like the first — albeit unintentional — contestant managed to uphold Grylls' reputation for getting everyone out alive.
