A woman is bending over backwards to establish a new world record - by limbo dancing.

Shemika Charles, from Buffalo, already holds a Guinness World Record for reaching the lowest height in limbo dancing by a female. She can get down as low as eight and half inches from the floor, or, about the height of a beer bottle.

In a video released this week by Barcroft TV, Charles is seen limboing under her truck to set a new world record.

“It takes a lot of concentration and a lot of balance and a lot of breath control,” the 22-year-old said.

Her success has not come without hard work. The young woman has been practicing up to six hour per day for the last several years.

Charles began her limbo career at the tender age of 14. She makes her living performing at NBA half-time shows and traveling across the U.S. showcasing her limbo dancing talent.

Her unique skill surprisingly runs in the family. Her mother, Sherrie, was also a limbo dancer for 16 years before injuring her back. Knowing the risks, her mother is worried all the time for her daughter’s health.

But Charles, who is known informally as the “Limbo Queen,” is not planning to stop contorting anytime soon. She trains with her Uncle Bob by her side and visits her chiropractor once a week for a check up.

In the near future, Charles plans to limbo backwards.

This “Limbo Queen” may hold a few more world records down the road.
