Miss Congeniality accused of shoplifting

Miss Congeniality accused of shoplifting

Caught red-handed … with her perfectly French manicured nails.

Chloe Curry, an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant from Centralia, Washington, was accused of attempting to shoplift cosmetics from a local Walmart.

With their purses full of lip balm, nail polish, fake eyelashes, fake nails and other beauty cosmetics, Curry and another 18-year-old woman attempted to leave the store without paying for their beautified finds.

The products in question were worth over $100, so both women were cited.

Isn't it just a little ironic that a beauty queen was nabbed in such an ugly act?

At a pageant held on Saturday, Curry won a $600 Miss Congeniality scholarship, which under pageant rules cannot be revoked.

But stealing from Walmart is not very congenial.

According to The Chronicle, Curry uses a different name for competitions, so the judges were unaware of the incident at the local Walmart prior to the competition.

With her talent in rhythmic dance and a platform for building a positive self-image, Curry seemed to be headed for a bright future in the pageant world.

The winner of a pageant's “Miss Congeniality” award goes to someone who "reflects the respect and admiration of the delegate’s peers, who is congenial, charismatic and inspirational.”

Shoplifting is definitely not one of the qualities that Miss Congeniality should possess.
