Must-see videos of the week: Feb. 2-8

At this year's Olympic games, there are plenty of new extreme sports, like Snowboard Slopestyle, but I have a feeling none of the extreme activities in this week's videos will be making an Olympic debut any time soon. Extreme river surfing, extreme driving, and even finding love under some extreme conditions. Here are this week's must-see videos:

River surfing is an activity that can only be done when the conditions are particularly favourable, and right now in North Cornwall, England, they most definitely are. Heavy rains have led to large sea swells in the south of England, causing rivers to to turn into the surging bodies of water you see in this video — although they're only ideal for surfing for about 30 minutes. Watch as this keen surfer battles the waves like a pro.

This, friends, is exactly why I don't drive: A car in Moscow swerves in front of another vehicle, cuts across three (!) lanes of traffic and neatly slides into park in this jaw-dropping footage. Hope whoever was inside the car was buckled in, too!

Dying to get out of your city or town? This video highlights some amazing shots by cinematographer Enrique Pacheco, who narrates the clip with his thoughts on creativity, family and his work experiences. If you're a daydreamer or if you have a touch of wanderlust, this is for you.

Dennis Aabo Sørensen, a father of three from Denmark, lost his hand in a fireworks accident nine years ago. He became the first amputee to regain the sense of real-time touch in with an artificial hand using a new system, seen and explained in the video above. Want to learn more? Read Scott Sutherland's Geekquinox post about it from earlier in the week.

Valentine's Day is coming up, so what better way to wrap up this week's installment of must-see videos than with a pair of lovers in a dangerous time? This couple met during the recent unrest in Ukraine, and fell for each other when the groom bandaged up his lover's hand after an accident in a protest site kitchen.
