Must-see videos of the week: November 29

A hunter has managed to film a rare spinning circle of ice on a lake in North Dakota.

This week's must-see videos capture a rare spinning ice phenomenon, Japan's large-scale plans for the moon and an adorable father-son moment.

This bizarre ice merry-go-round appeared on the surface of Sheyenne River in North Dakota last week. A surprised hunter videotaped the twirl and later took to the internet to solve the mystery behind it. Turns out, it’s a rare but natural phenomenon that occurred because the ice froze too fast, before all of the river’s water cooled down. As a result, some ice broke away, got caught in a current and started to spin, forming a perfect circle in the process.

Inventors are amazing. He may not be building solar panels that can save Japan, but this ingenious Brazilian man built an excavator from syringes and other recycled materials. Watch him operate it:
