Must-see videos of the week – July 20

Some weird stuff happened this past week and as a result we have some awesome videos. Here are our favourites:

1. Man catches girl from window

A New York City bus driver is being hailed as a hero after catching a girl who fell from a third-storey window in a Brooklyn building. Stephen St. Bernard was walking home from work when he heard a commotion and saw the girl sanding on an air conditioning unit. St. Bernard saw the unit break and at that moment he said to the Christian Science Monitor, "I just prayed that I'd catch her." The girl suffered only minor injuries while St. Bernard tore a tendon in his shoulder.

2. Air conditioned pants

The summer heat can be a lot for some people to handle, so a new product out of Japan may be your answer. The air-conditioned shirts and pants have cooling units that just cool the area next to your body. It does give you that Michelin look, but it can go a long way to reducing the need for air conditioning in a country that doesn't have any working nuclear reactors. If you are a female and this still doesn't keep you cool, you can always try the ice bra.

3. Company pays employees $7,500 to go on vacation

Denver software provider company FullContact offered employees the generous bonus to go on vacation on top of their normal vacation. But there were some rules: employees had to go entirely off the technology grid, they couldn't do any work and they had to go somewhere.

"We felt that everyone should have the opportunity to take a nice vacation without constantly worrying about how much money they're spending while on vacation," CEO Bart Lorang blogged.

5. Cows stampede through neighbourhood

Well, here's something you don't see every day. Residents in the town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England were awoken by a stampede of cows after they escaped from a farm. The dozens of bovines, which ranged in size, trotted along the front lawn of a house and down the street. James Lee filmed the video and told the BBC the hoof prints were six inches deep on his lawn.
