Must-see videos of the week – July 26

Crocodile trainer Pravit Suebmee, 27, experiences one of the scariest moments of his life while performing this trick in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Luckily, he didn't suffer any serious injuries! Warning, the clip is graphic!

From a man surviving after a crocodile bites his head to a surfers riding a tsunami-like wave in New Brunswick of all places, we've seen some great videos this week. Here are some of our favourites:

1. Crocodile bites man's head during show

Pravit Suebmee, 27, has been sticking his head in the mouths of crocodiles as a trainer for more than eight years. But after Sunday's show at a show at a popular tourist crocodile farm in Bangkok, he may be rethinking his career path. The two trainers, including Suebmee who is on the right, were performing some tricks with the crocodile in front of the crowd he when put his head in the croc's mouth. Just then, the crocodile bit down. Luckily for Suebmee, the croc quickly let go.

"This is the first time this has happened at our crocodile farm," said owner Uthen Youngprapakorn, according to the Bangkok Post. "I've regularly warned the performers to be careful at all times."

Suebmee thinks the crocodile may have been startled after he put his head between its teeth and then his hand slipped on the wet ground and brushed its cheek. Suebmee had bite marks on his face and neck, but was not seriously injured.

2. Surfers hang ten on tsunami-like wave in N.B.

Canada is not known as a surfing mecca, but this week, surfers from all around flocked to New Brunswick to ride a wave. JJ Wessels and Colin Whitbread, travelled there from California to ride the Petitcodiac River's tidal bore. They hopped on the wave in Belliveau Village and rode it for 29 kilometres to Moncton. In doing so they set a North American record, breaking it by 21 kilometres.

"There's nothing like it in the world, so it's an experience totally unique," said Whitbread to CP. "It's like a freight train...You're catching a little tsunami tidal wave."

The tidal bore results from high tides in the Bay of Fundy pushing water into the river and creating a wave about a metre high.

3. Woman survives after driving off bridge

Morgan Lake, 22, was driving on a bridge in Maryland when a tractor-trailer forced her into the barrier. Her car was pushed back onto the roadway, but again hit the tractor trailer. The second collision forced the car onto the top of the Jersey barrier. It straddled there for a short time, but then tipped over and fell about 12 metres into the water below. The car immediately filled with water, but Lake was able to get herself together, get out of the car and swim to safety.

"I went from panic to calm," she told the The Washington Post. "There's a Superman and Superwoman in everyone."

4. Woman almost electrocuted while crossing street

A woman was nearly electrocuted while trying to cross the street in Biysk, Russia. A truck with a crane unknowingly cut an electrical wire, which is used by the city's electric buses. She wasn't injured.

5. Child's painting fools gallery goers

A cheeky reporter at ABC is challenging the theory of quality art. He took a nine-year-old girl with zero artistic training, got her to paint a piece of art, hung it in a gallery and asked people what they thought. Most people gave some pretty sophisticated answers, but all seemed to think the work was pretty amazing. So the next time you see a piece of pricey art and think: a kid could have made this, it may be true.
