When it came to commercials during Sunday’s 88th Academy Awards, one in particular warmed many hearts by turning a child’s game into a powerful message about anti-bullying.

Google’s new minute-long ad for Android, set to “St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion)” by John Parr, follows the lives of rock, paper and scissors. The three overcome bullying and become friends, despite being sworn enemies according to the rules of the game.

“Rock, paper and scissors don’t have much in common, but that won’t stop them,” the clip’s description says on YouTube. “Be together. #NotTheSame.”

The animated commercial features a “paper” student, who shows up for school and encounters a group of mean “scissors” waiting for him in the hallway. But its his fellow “papers” that turn on him.

Surprisingly, one “scissor” student steps in to help out “paper” and they become friends. The two eventually also befriend rock, who gets bullied.

Despite being wordless, the commercial was able to present a moving message about bullying that resonated with many on social media.
