Pedestrians lift car off trapped woman in China

Last Thursday, a woman and her husband were riding a motorcycle in Zhejiang Province, China, when a car crashed into them, pinning the woman beneath the car.
A police officer witnessed the scary accident and immediately rushed to the scene, trying to help the husband lift the car off the trapped women.
Within seconds, a crowd of Good Samaritans had gathered to help free the woman. They surrounded the car — and lifted it off of her.
"The people around the accident site just came over and offered a helping hand," said Xu Ruxi, a traffic police officer.
"The upper part of the lady’s body was under the car bottom, and she screamed really loudly."
The collaborative rescue effort was caught on closed-circuit television.
According to the Telegraph, the woman is now recovering from her injuries at a local hospital.
"More than 10 kind-hearted people moved me out of the car bottom and then I just sat there. I really appreciate them for saving me,” said the injured woman.
Last January, about a dozen New York City police officers helped lift a Crown Victoria taxi off of a trapped pedestrian.
And in Perth, Australia, this summer, commuters teamed up to lift a subway train — and free a passenger’s leg that had been pinned between the train car and the platform.
