Photographer takes portraits of friends after each glass of wine

Ever wonder what you look like after a drink? How about after two or three?

Brazilian photographer Marcos Alberti decided to base one of his photo projects on a quote he heard about wine, which he posted on his blog: “The first glass of wine is all about the food, the second glass is about love and the third glass is about mayhem.”

To see if this quote rang true with life, he photographed friends in his studio, snapping shots before they started to drink and then after each glass of wine.

“The first picture was taken right away when our guests have just arrived at the studio in order to capture the stress and the fatigue after a full day working all day long and from also facing rush hour traffic to get here.” Alberti posted on his blog. “Only then fun time and my project could begin.”

You’d be lucky to see more than a smirk in the first photos, but as the wine is introduced into the equation, those smirks loosen up, and by drink three, everyone’s pretty much ready to party.

“People from all walks of life, music, art, fashion, dance, architecture, advertising got together for a couple of nights and by the end of the third glass several smiles emerged and many stories were told.”

Here’s hoping he continues the series to up the glass count. If the third glass is all fun and games, what about the fourth?
