Pizza Hut manager refuses to open on Thanksgiving

Pizza Hut manager Tony Rohr refused to open his Pizza Hut branch on Thanksgiving Day.

A dispute between an Indiana Pizza Hut manager and his employer about opening on Thanksgiving created enough heat to burn the crust this week, but the fast food chain says it is offering the man his job back.

Tony Rohr, a former cook and now the manager of a Pizza Hut restaurant in Elkhart, Ind. told the television station WSBT22 he refused to open the store on Thanksgiving Day, even after his managers told him he didn't have a choice. Rohr argued that his employees deserved the few guaranteed days off they receive each year and he didn't want to take this one away.

His superiors asked him for his resignation, but Rohr said he wrote a scalding letter instead.

"I am not quitting. I do not resign, however I accept that the refusal to comply with this greedy, immoral request means the end of my tenure with this company," the letter said, according to WSBT22. "I hope you realize that it's the people at the bottom of the totem pole that make your life possible."

The story, which has made headlines since last week, has now received a response from Pizza Hut saying the Elkhart branch will offer Rohr his job back.

Rohr told CNN he isn't sure if he'll accept it.
