Getting that picture-perfect selfie with your furry friend isn’t easy when they are more than likely to be distracted to even look at the camera.

But one Kickstarter project may just have found the perfect solution to grab your dog’s attention long enough to snap that perfect photo.

Jason Hernandez from San Diego, California, has come up with a simple attachment that can be used on any smartphone and in theory it keeps your dog’s gaze on the camera allowing you to take a few pictures.

The Pooch Selfie uses a mount that holds a tennis ball, which fits on top of your phone.

“Pooch Selfie does exactly what it is suppose to do in holding a dog’s attention,” Hernandez told boredpanda.com. “It doesn’t change who the dog is, so if you have a bad dog, you have a bad dog.”

The gadget is designed to “take advantage of a dog’s natural draw and focus to a tennis ball.”

If your dog gets restless, the Pooch Selfie ball is squeaky and removable so that you can play fetch with them and regain their focus for more awesome selfies.

The Pooch Selfie took about a year to create and is expected to be available to the public early next year, The Huffington Post reports.

The project is currently raising funds for production with a goal of $7,000. Donors have already contributed more than $16,000 with 18 days still to go.
