Pumpktris blends all the fun of Tetris an interactive pumpkin

Even if you managed to carve an exact replica of Mt. Rushmore into your Halloween pumpkin, you still won't even come close to the jack-o-lantern greatness achieved by Nathan Pryor.

The Washington designer and programmer took gaming to the next level by fashioning a Tetris pumpkin — or Pumpktris — that you can actually play by using the stem as a controller.

Pryor created his own LED matrix and wrote an original Tetris program, an exhaustive process he describes step-by-step in his personal blog.

The result is an example of the genius that can be achieved by combining nature and technology. Even if you cobble together a reasonable facsimile you'll still have the greatest jack-o-lantern on the block.

It can also cut down on that November tooth decay spike. Because who needs to give out candy when there's an interactive pumpkin on the front porch?
