Raccoon raised by family with rescue dogs thinks it’s one too

Most people think of raccoons as those pesky midnight bandits that raid your trash bins and leave garbage strewn across the driveway.

Just ask the good people of Toronto, a city that’s has beefed up the quality of its green bins to make them raccoon proof.

But if you’ve ever stumbled across baby raccoon, their adorable puppy-like features may just tug at your heartstrings, just as they did for Nassau, Bahamas, native Rosie Kemp.

This is Pumpkin in her younger days, the raccoon Kemp found that had fallen out of tree in her backyard and broken its leg, according to The Dodo.

Kemp and her daughter Laura Young took little Pumpkin in and raised her with their rescue dogs, Toffee and Oreo.

“Raising her was (and still is) a full-time job,” Young told The Dodo, “They are so unbelievably intelligent, very aware, and I would say they are even able to express emotions.”

All of Pumpkins current adventures with the family are chronicled on Instagram, where the Kemp has garnered more than 65 thousand followers.
