Rick Mercer ziplines with NDP leader Thomas Mulcair
He's had a slumber party with Stephen Harper, gotten body checked by Jack Layton in a street hockey match and helped Michael Ignatieff move into his new digs during the professor's brief tenure at the helm of the Liberal Party.
So continuing a long tradition of getting politicians to do funny things on camera, Rick Mercer recently convinced opposition leader Thomas Mulcair to go zip-lining with him in Newfoundland.
The NDP leader played nicely off Mercer's quick wit, proving a good sport both on and off the line.

"Off you go. Show us what you're made of," Mercer taunts before the politician's first leap off the ground.
"I'm afraid I'm going to do that literally if I drop," Mulcair retorts.
Between bouts of hurtling through the air at 40 km per hour and picking blueberries, however, the pair also managed to talk a little shop.
