Seal pup plays hide-and-seek with Labrador

The seal was too curious to leave this grumpy dog alone.

If there’s a perfect time to watch a seal playing hide-and-seek with a dog, the start of a long weekend is certainly it.

The fun footage, which was first posted last February, has been getting plenty of attention this week. Better late than never, right?

The seal pup in the River Thames near Greenwich, England, isn’t quite sure what to make of the canine barking at him, but he doesn’t shy away from 13-year-old Mischa, either.

Instead, the seal bobs up and down in the water, too curious to leave the dog alone for long. When the seal works up the nerve to come ashore, however, the Labrador’s enthusiasm startles the pup back into the water.

Maybe seals really are the dogs of the sea.

They even sleep like dogs.

In 2011, this baby fur seal snuck into a suburban New Zealand home — and took a nap on the couch.
