Security camera footage shows officer saving man from leaping to death

Closed Circuit Television has captured a police officer saving a man from leaping to his death in front of a train in Colombia, according to the Telegraph.

The video shows a man slowly approaching the tracks as a nearby officer turns to watch him. The officer moves up beside the man once he reaches the edge of the tracks.

As the train approaches, the man steps forward and bends to jump in front of the speeding vehicle but the officer grabs his arm, yanking him back to safety. The officer pulls the man up from the ground and carries him away.

The intense moment happened in Medellin, Colombia, on April 15 at Hospital Station, according to the Telegraph.

A similar incident happened in Philadelphia last month, when a man walked onto the subway tracks, led a recovering drug addict to leap off the platform and save the man from being hit by a train, according to CTV News.

Earlier this year, an off-duty police officer staged a rescue of a Madrid woman who had passed out and fallen onto the tracks, according to the Telegraph. He pulled her off the tracks and the train driver stopped until both people were safely on the platform.

No need for melodramatic film scenes about victims tied to train tracks here; real-life has enough extraordinary examples.
