Tumblr blog reveals final conversations sent between loved ones

It’s heartbreaking to read the last messages ever exchanged between loved ones, whether it’s an unfinished conversation or the final goodbye.

On Tumblr, The Last Message Received is giving people a glimpse into those tear-jerking conversations.

Emily Trunko launched the blog as a way for users to anonymously submit the last messages they received from their ex-lovers, friends and family members, who have passed away.

“I’ve always been fascinated with the glimpses into the lives of other people,” Trunko told BuzzFeed. “I thought that the last messages sent before a breakup or before someone passed away would be really poignant.”

Some of the messages on the blog are long, others are short but they each include a screenshot of the conversation along with a heartbreaking caption underneath.

One message is from a guy, who tells someone in a text message, “I feel like shit … I just left you … and didn’t even look back or give you a chance to talk.”

Other posts come from family members who have passed away a few days later. Like this one: “Day Day. Sweetie. Don’t worry. I’ll be ok. Love you more.”

Trunko, previously, launched Dear My Blank on Tumblr, where people could anonymously share their letters to crushes, exes or any other intended recipient.

Since creating the new blog a few weeks ago 15-year-old Trunko told New York Times the project has already received more than 2,500 submissions.

Trunko has also become more conscious of her own text messages ever since launching the blog, she told BuzzFeed.

“Every message I send to them could be the last one I ever exchange,” she said. “And every message I receive could be the last one I receive.”
