Video captures the power of a first kiss

A group of strangers share first kisses in a new viral video.

There’s something inexplicable about a first kiss.

That moment, just before contact, when you can literally feel the breath of another in your ears, beside your cheek, on your mouth. That space holds a certain intimacy, yet it’s a feeling of uncertainty. It’s a feeling when your curious mind and your wanting body have to make a choice: cross the threshold, break the ice, kiss the girl.

This awkwardly intimate video shows 20 hopeful actors at a casting call.

The instructions were simple: Just kiss.

Amateur filmmaker Tatia Pileva decided to create this short film to show the world the power of human interactions.

The actors, strangers to one another, were paired off and called in to the casting room, ready to lock lips. But when it came time to actually start kissing, many began to laugh or become awkward about it.

Many asked if the camera was rolling yet, unsure of when to begin.

A few couples began to compliment one another to break the ice.

“Let’s look at each other for a minute,” says one girl to the woman she will be kissing, seemingly to calm nerves for the both of them.

Mid-way through the video, they all seem to have become comfortable enough and they just go for it.

One couple exudes so much passion, it’s hard to believe they’re actually strangers. At first they’re just staring at one another, and then he grabs her hands … and it’s like magic.

It’s so interesting to watch them both come undone in one swift move.

Human interaction itself is always interesting. The way we act, the way we react, the way we laugh, love, giggle in awkward moments … this video captures the most transient of human interaction and it will leave you smiling, I promise you that.

The two gentleman who awkwardly gave it their all actually hugged each other after their lip lock. “I just wanna hug you,” they said, through laughs.

What’s even more interesting is that this video seemed to have a medicinal effect on viewers, many of who claim it “made their morning.”

I dare you to try and not smile after watching this one!

“I love videos that show such vulnerable true emotion,” a viewer added.

Our vulnerability is what makes us human … remember that.
