Woman gets slapped in the face by whale’s tail

Sometimes it's better to take a step back from the action.

That's what Canadian Chelsea Crawford learned the hard way, after getting smacked in the face by a whale.

According to MSN NZ, Crawford was whale-watching with friends off the coast of Baja California, Mexico, when she got an unexpected close encounter of the whale kind.

Crawford's friend, Jordyn Rivet, was filming a whale rolling through the waves and getting closer and closer to her boat when the whale flipped its massive tail and struck Crawford in the head.

"We went whale watching on the Baja this weekend, and unfortunately, Chelsea got smacked in the head by a whale's tail," the description reads.

"Luckily, she was fine and we got it on video."

The girls are reportedly members of the Canadian charity LiveDifferent.
