Yet another #snowpocalypse in the Maritimes

Another week, another snowstorm on Canada's East Coast.

On Sunday, a severe blizzard blanketed parts of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, rendering travel nearly impossible as cars and sidewalks were buried in up to 60 cm of fresh snow. While it may have shut down much of the region, it didn't stop residents from chronicling the latest #snowpocalypse, sharing some pretty remarkable pictures of the latest in a winter full of severe storms.

The sheer amount of snow was so great that it even reached the top of some houses' doors, forcing people to quite literally dig their way out of their own homes.

While Maritimers are expecting some near-zero temperatures this week, they may not be done digging out. A special weather statement is in effect for Halifax ahead of a potential snowstorm on Thursday. An additional 10 to 15 cm is expected, though the winds will be far less violent than they were over the weekend.
