Justin Bieber reportedly targeted in bizarre murder plot

Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber was the target of a bizarre murder plot allegedly concocted by a convicted murderer and apparent Bieliber, new reports suggest.

KRQE News in Albuquerque, New Mexico, reports that police claim two would-be hit men were going to attack the "Boyfriend" singer at a sold-out appearance at New York City's Madison Square Gardens last month.

The details of the attack are quite graphic, but they involved castrating Bieber and strangling him with a paisley tie.

Investigators told KRQE that they believe Mark Staake and nephew Tanner Ruane had been hired to attack Bieber, his bodyguard and two other people by a man Staake had met in prison.

Dana Martin, who is serving two life sentences for raping and killing a 15-year-old girl, allegedly recruited the pair. Martin is reportedly as Justin Bieber fan and has a tattoo of the singer on his leg.

There is mountains of doubt that the murder plot came anywhere close to being executed. The whole affair fell apart when Martin inexplicably turned police on to Staake and Ruane. The pair was arrested in New York with a set of tools, including garden shears.

The bizarre story comes amid a rare dip in the Stratford, Ont., native's career.

He was blanked at the Grammy nomination announcement last week, sending his manager into fits, and online searches of his name have dropped this year.

The bizarre plot also comes after a British Columbia man was charged with harassing pop star Carly Rae Jepsen after allegedly hacking into her computer.

Not a good time for Canadian pop stars, it seems.
