MORNING BREW: HMV sold to restructuring specalist; Walmart to expand smaller stores

• HMV has confirmed the sale of its 121 Canadian stores for £2.05 million to U.K. restructuring firm Hilco, along with a plan to extend the period in which physical music and videos can be sold, along with the introduction of new product categories. (CMW)

• Walmart has confirmed plans to introduce its first smaller-format Canadian store, called "Urban 90," in east Toronto next January, which was announced along with the purchase of 39 former Zellers stores that weren't deemed suitable for Target Canada. (Toronto Star)

• Half of the newcomers who have been in Canada for one year or less feel under-employed, according to a recent Environics poll conducted for the Royal Bank of Canada, which also found one-third who immigrated six-to-ten years ago still feel that way. (CNW)
