Justin Trudeau is meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House in the first visit by a sitting Canadian prime minister to the United States in nearly 20 years. However, with how well the two got along, you might have thought they were lifelong best friends.

While speaking to an audience on the White House lawn on Thursday, the two leaders joked about hockey and beer as only Americans and Canadians can.

“There are some things we will probably never agree on. Whose beer is better, who is better at hockey,” Obama said. “Where’s the Stanley Cup right now? I’m sorry, is it in my hometown with the Chicago Blackhawks?”

Trudeau later joked that Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Patrick Sharp were Canadian exports that have been “extraordinary contributors to the American success story.”

Trudeau will spend only three days in Washington, D.C., but based on how Obama and Trudeau’s chemistry has been lighting up Twitter on both sides of the border, three days might not be enough. The hashtag #CanadaVisit was trending No. 3 in the U.S. capital, while #PMDC was the No. 6 trending topic on Twitter in Canada.
