Young Maple Leafs show off budding growth at Movember mid-point

Somehow, Yahoo! Canada managed to find the two Toronto Maple Leafs players who struggle to grow moustaches.

Maybe it's the stress of the NHL lockout or the fact that they're 24 and 22 years old respectively, but Matt Frattin and Jake Gardiner are off to a slow start in their head-to-head competition to grow the best 'stache for the month of Movember:

Twenty days in, neither has much more than peach fuzz on their upper lips, but it's not from a lack of trying. Frattin's been massaging his upper lip with shampoo and conditioner, while Gardiner's been keeping his apartment cold.

"I was told your hair grows faster when it's cold," the second-year defenceman said.

Well, whatever it takes. We'll catch up with the boys at the end of Movember to determine who won their personal bet, with the loser cleaning the winner's apartment.
