Monday Night Fliers: McCown, Gillmore Cyber Monday steals

Fantasy owners looking to cash big in Yahoo DFS are always in the market for connector players, low-dollar options that provide roster flexibility and fatten wallets. Every Monday we'll bargain hunt in an attempt to unearth buried treasure. Today's featured buys come from BAL/CLE, a matchup with few fantasy interests.

Josh McCown, Cle, QB ($20 in Yahoo DFS) – With Captain Cuervo, Johnny Manziel, demoted, McCown reascends into the starting role, a gig he exceeded expectations in fantasy wise for much of the season including in his first battle with Baltimore. Back in Week 5, the well-traveled signal caller lit up an under-performing unit to the tune of 457 passing yards and three total touchdowns (1 rushing). Considering the Ravens' shortcomings in coverage, particularly Shareece Wright (143.8 QB rating allowed) and Jimmy Smith (87.4), McCown has sounds odds of surpassing 300 yards with 2-3 touchdowns, a feat four other passers have achieved against Baltimore this year. At a QB minimum $20, he's a friggin' bargain.

Crocket Gillmore, Bal, TE ($14) – In a game only a fantasy owner could love, the unheralded TE is worth watching. Creeping inside the position's top-10 in per game average, he's eclipsed the 10-fantasy point mark in three of his past four contests. Yes, putting your fantasy faith in Matt Schaub is akin to trusting the Hamburglar to watch your Big Mac, but the noodle-armed QB is sure to find a friend in the 6-foot-6, 250-pound target. When you also consider Cleveland has allowed five touchdowns to tight ends over the past three weeks and Gillmore is a no-brainer buy. Something in range of 50-60 yards with a score is very achievable.
