Alabama man reunited with dog after tornado strikes

A photo of Alabama man Greg Cook hugging his dog Coco has gone viral.

A tornado hit Cook's East Limestone, Alabama home on Friday. Coco was home alone at the time.

Fifty other homes in the neighbourhood were destroyed.

Fearing that his dog was dead, Cook rushed home, dug through debris, and crawled through a window in a desperate search for his beloved chocolate labrador. He found Coco soaking wet, shaking in a hallway.

The tearful reunion was captured on camera, a rare heartwarming moment on a very difficult day.

"It was just such a relief, I was happy to see him. I love my dog, he's my best friend and I was just so happy to see him," Cook told WAFF.
