Baby koala gets rescued, bandaged up after getting stuck in tree

Last week, a baby koala named Kai and her mom got stuck in a tree at Soldier's Point in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia.

The pair were dangerously close to power lines when Kai's mom, who had a tumour on her leg, lost the ability to use her right foot.

The Hunter Koala Preservation Society came to the rescue and worked with Ausgrid, the power company, to make sure the adorable duo made it to the ground safely.

The koalas were taken to a veterinarian for examination and medical care.

"Kai wasn't hurt during the rescue, but her little arms were bandaged after vets ran blood tests," Ausgrid posted on Facebook.

If only we all looked so cute at the doctor's.

Sadly, because Kai's mother was suffering from a large untreatable tumour, she was put down.
