BeeBee the wheelchair-bound Chihuahua inspires at Colorado nursing home

An inspiring little dog is spreading joy to nursing home residents in Colarado.

BeeBee the Chihuahua was born on July 4th with no shoulder blades, making it impossible for her to put any weight on her front legs or even straighten them. Engineering students at Bollman Tech created a custom wheelchair for the adorable pup, helping BeeBee get around on her own.

In her custom wheelchair, BeeBee frequently roams the halls at Alpine Living Center in Thornton, Colorado, cheering up the nursing-home residents she rolls by.

"Residents fell in love with her, the staff fell in love with her," says BeeBee's proud owner, Denise Steininger, who works at the nursing home. "I don't think her head's gotten swollen or anything with stardom."

Steininger hopes to get BeeBee approved as a therapy dog for the facility.
