Calgary Zoo tiger cubs doing well, new video shows

The three tiger cubs born last month at the Calgary Zoo are growing quickly and a new video shows just how big they've gotten since their birth on March 30.

"We are delighted to advise that they are continuing to grow and develop as they should under the great care that is being provided by their mother Katja," said spokesperson Laurie Skene in a statement, Metro News reports.

The public is yet to meet the Amur tiger cubs, as they need to stay in the den for three months under the watchful eye of their mother. In the meantime, the public can follow along with the cubs' progress via infrared cameras inside the den.

This is the third attempt the Calgary Zoo has made at breeding Katja, but her first successful run at motherhood, the CBC reports. In addition to Katja, the Calgary Zoo is also home to two other tigers; Baikal, and Katja's mother, 16-year-old Kita.
