Do-good prankster 'robs' home for at-risk children

YouTube prankster Roman Atwood teamed up with computer store Tiger Direct to prank staff at JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options) Children’s Village in South Florida.

JAFCO Children’s Village provides housing to at-risk and abused children who had been removed from their homes.

According to JAFCO’s site:

All efforts are made by JAFCO staff and volunteers to make them feel safe, protected and loved.”

With limited resources, however, the children’s village was unable to replace its dated computers or purchase a television or tablets for the kids to use.

So, with permission from JAFCO officials, Atwood and Tiger Direct decided to do something (dramatic) about it.

First, Atwood broke in and staged a robbery. He “trashed” the place, and hid the village’s old computers in a storage room.

The next morning, he posed as an investigator, questioning staff about the break-in.

“Who would do this to a child welfare agency?” asked one upset staff member.

Atwood then led staff to an office space — where he revealed a room full of new computers and equipment.

“You’ve been upgraded.”

His final surprise: A box full of tablets for the children to use.

We’re big fans of heartwarming pranks here at Yahoo Canada News.

Here’s a quick look back at some of our favourites so far:

YouTube prankster Magic of Rahat’s “lottery” prank led to strangers lending a helping hand — and getting a homeless man off the streets and into his own home.

YouTube magician Stuart Edge made a few college students’ day with his sneaky move: reverse pickpocketing.

And Break.com’s Prank It Fwd project helped give one waitress the “best shift ever,” gifting her with $1,000, a trip to Hawaii, her dream job and a new car.
