A group of mothers in Moncton, New Brunswick experienced a great surprise recently when their children, grand children and great grand children came from far and wide for an unexpected visit.

“I have eight children,” Emily Hay says. “I have two in British Columbia, one in San Francisco, one on the Miramachi and one in Halifax… Does that make eight?”

“I don’t take them coming and going very easily,” she said. “I always imagined they’d live on my street.”

The other women in the short film expound on their thoughts of motherhood.

“Well mothers, I feel, are the heart of the home,” said one.

“Mothers are important because they’re the first teachers that children have,” said another.

All nine women featured in the video live in a retirement home together. You can see the special sparkle in their eyes as their family members arrive for the big reveal.

“She’s gonna be thrilled,” said one of the visiting children.

“Its hard to keep something like this from mum for a month,” said his sibling.

The women were treated to a luncheon, while their families filled the halls of the residence, ready to stream in for the surprise reunion.

The looks on the mothers faces are sheer surprise, love and joy as they are smothered in hugs and kisses from sons, daughters, grand kids and great grandchildren.

If this doesn’t inspire you to go out and do something special for the woman who gave you life this Sunday, we don’t know what will.
