Flower girl, ring bearer say ‘I do’ — 20 years later

On Saturday, Brittney Husbyn and Briggs Fussy said “I do” before family and friends in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

This wasn’t their first trip down the aisle together. Twenty years ago, they did so as flower girl and ring bearer.

Years after their first wedding, Husbyn and Fussy reconnected in a college classroom.

"She turned around one day in class and said, ‘I think I have a picture of you on my wall at home,’" Fussy recalled. “I remember just little glimpses [of the first wedding]. Brittney’s running around, making commotion.”

Sure enough, a photo of Husbyn was on the wall in Fussy’s mother’s home.

The couple dated for five years before exchanging vows this weekend.

It will be a few years before we know if their flower girl and ring bearer are also a love match.

This isn’t the first adorable childhood-reunion love story we’ve fallen for here at Yahoo Canada News.

In the summer of 2013, Boston couple Jake Kantrowitz and Sarah Truitt recreated a childhood photo on their wedding day: They rode the merry-go-round they once rode together as young children. The sweet pic went viral on Reddit.

And in November 2013, a New Brunswick couple finally wed — 75 years after their first kiss as schoolchildren.

"I can’t help but think…that my prince from Grade 3 has finally come home to stay. And I think it’s just marvellous," Carol Harris said of her groom, George Raynes, to CBC News.
