#HelpHealHenry: kitten needs gets help from the public after being hit by car in Edmonton

Henry the kitten

An adorable grey stray kitten at the Edmonton Humane Society is getting his five minutes of fame onlineand it’s helping pay for his recovery.

Henry, or #warriorcat as he’s known online, was hit by a car two weeks ago. He suffered a gaping wound to one of his back legs and is facing the likely amputation of a dislocated front leg when he’s older.

While it initially appeared that he had brain and head trauma, a recent checkup determined no permanent brain damage.

A recent update from his Animal Health Team indicated that scar tissue has formed well over his exposed ligaments.

He is now receiving plenty of TLC from his foster mom — and foster dog — as he recovers and gains weight.

“Today, despite his casts, Henry is a very lively little kitten,” the health team wrote on GoFundMe. “He’s a flurry of energy, completely oblivious to his injuries. Staff have commented ‘He doesn’t know he’s broken!’”

Using the hashtag #HelpHealHenry, the Edmonton Humane Society is updating followers on Henry’s story with photos on Instagram and Facebook, hoping to attract donors to contribute to his recovery and the treatment of other sick and injured animals at the shelter.

They’ve already surpassed their goal of $5,000.
