A gay teenager shared his anxiety about growing up to live a happy life in a Humans of New York photo that grabbed the attention of a few very familiar faces.

Humans of New York, a photoblog that strives to capture the daily lives of the average New Yorker, is a haven for relatable stories that ranges from uplifting to deeply emotional.

The original Facebook post that shows the young boy looking distressed is captioned with his own words: “I’m homosexual and I’m afraid about what my future will be and that people won’t like me.”

The photo has since gone viral, racking up more than 620,000 likes on Facebook and nearly 60,000 shares.

The comments are riddled with words of encouragement from strangers all around the world, and one particular politician chimed in as well.

“Prediction from a grown up: your future is going to be amazing,” former Secretary of the State Hillary Clinton replied to the post. “You will surprise yourself with what you’re capable of and the incredible things you go on to do.”

“Find the people who love and believe in you – there will be lots of them,” she wrote before signing it with “—H.”

Her inspiring post has nearly 75,000 likes and has spawned hundreds of supporting responses. The photographer, Brandon Stanton, wrote back to her by saying “Thanks for this Ms. Clinton.”

Shortly after, beloved daytime talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres joined the conversation as well.

“Not only will people like you, they’ll love you,” she wrote. “I just heard of you and I love you already.”

And luckily for the unnamed boy, these are just two posts in a sea of positive vibes – there are plenty more where those came from.
