The weather outside is frightful — everywhere.

After the four-day snowstorm Alexa, much of the Middle East has been left covered in snow.

And while power outages, flight delays, road blocks and dangerous living conditions are all serious cause for alarm, some folks are choosing to revel in the rare winter wonderland.

Photos of snowmen and snowball fights in Egypt, where snow hadn't been seen in 100 years, Jerusalem, Iran and Palestine are popping up on Instagram.

"It's fun to play in the snow," Talia Kremer, a young Jerusalemite, told USA Today, mid-snowball fight. "Snowball fights are the best."

Even royalty is getting involved in the activities typically reserved for colder climates.

A video of Jordan's King Abdullah II helping free a car stuck in the snow is going viral.

You now have something in common with a king: the sweet satisfaction of freeing a vehicle from the snow.
