Lucky couple wins lottery three times in March

Calvin and Zatera Spencer won three separate Virginia lotteries in March 2014.

Some folks have all the luck.

Virginia couple Calvin and Zatera Spencer won $1 million in the Powerball drawing on March 12.

Two weeks later, on March 26, Calvin won $50,000 with 10 winning tickets — they all had the same winning combination of 6-6-6-6 — in Virginia Lottery's Pick 4 game.

The very next day, he bough a Virginia Lottery Scratcher ticket, $100 Million Cash Extravaganza — and won the $1 million prize.

“Baby, we did it again!” Calvin told his wife.

The Spencers took the cash option of $681,000 before taxes.

"I’ve been here for 12 years," Virginia Lottery spokesman John Hagerty told the Los Angeles Times, "and this is the first time I’ve seen someone win three major prizes within such a short period of time."

According to the Los Angeles Times, the odds of the Spencers winning each of the lottery games, in order, were one in three million, one in 10,000 and one in 836,000.

And no, they're not going to quit playing the lottery while they're ahead.

"We're not finished yet," they said as they claimed their latest jackpot.
