Nova Scotia man Freeman Hall reunited with dusty wallet 42 years later

A Nova Scotia man has been reunited with the wallet he lost 42 years ago.

Freeman Hall had just finished hanging lights for a CBC show taped in Dartmouth's Prince Andrew High School's auditorium in 1971 when he noticed his wallet was gone.

"We were going out for lunch and I went to grab my wallet and I didn't have it. I said 'Oh, it's up there, way back in the corner.' I went to look for it for a couple times and never found it," Hall told CBC News.

Last week, construction foreman Neil Northrop found the wallet exactly where Hall lost it: in the school's ceiling.

"It was just completely covered in dust," Northrop said.

Inside was Hall's driver's license, CBC identification card, birth certificate, health card, credit card and photo of his then-three-month-old son.

The custodial manager at the school managed to track down Hall and return the wallet to him.

In April, a South Carolina woman was reunited with her wallet 23 years after it had been stolen.

And last February, a man discovered a wallet in his attic and returned it to the Kansas man who lost it 35 years earlier.
