Paramedic comes to the rescue minutes after her wedding ceremony

How’s this for a wedding day photo?

This shot was captured just minutes after the beautiful bride was called to the scene of an accident involving her grandparents and father. The picture has more than 12,000 likes since being posted on Facebook.

“My family comes in from out of town and this happened,” said Tennessee native and paramedic Sarah Ray to News Channel 5. “I was scared on the way there.”

Sarah and her new husband Paul Ray, also a paramedic with Montgomery County, received a call just minutes after their wedding ceremony ended.

“Anybody in the EMS field would’ve done the same thing,” Ray told News Channel 5. “I don’t know if what I did was special but I was in a wedding dress.”

It was Ray’s mother who snapped the harrowing photo, showing Ray walking in the rain with emergency response vehicles providing the backdrop.

“I love this photo because it shows her character and accentuates her beauty,” Ray’s mother Marcy Martin told News Channel 5.

Gladly, no one was seriously injured, though Ray’s grandmother was sent to the hospital for evaluations.

Ray took to Facebook to thank those who believe she did something special, though she’s quick to point out that anyone in the EMS field would’ve done the same thing, and gives full credit to her new husband as well.
