A reason to smile: YouTube star hands out roses and compliments

Yousef Saleh Erakat, known as Fousey on YouTube, recently handed out roses to women on a college campus, hoping to make them smile.

The cute social experiment worked — with only one exception. And the final rose even earned him a hug.

Yousef explains the motivation behind the simple stunt:

"So I feel like social media has desensitized us so much as a generation. We have trouble taking compliments nowadays unless it’s left on an Instagram comment or Twitter or Facebook. So today I’m gonna take it back to how it used to be and let people know that they’re appreciated and loved in person. Crazy, right?"
