Ripple the dog stole the show during a recent Global Edmonton weather forecast.

The one-and-a-half-year-old Shepherd-Mastiff cross from the Edmonton Humane Society was being featured in an Adopt-a-Pet segment on the Morning News.

Ripple’s on-air antics — he chewed through his leash and jumped all over weatherman Mike Sobel — earned him some online fame, and, more importantly, helped find him a new family.

When Dennis and Susan Paulson saw the news clip, they immediately knew that Ripple would be a great “boyfriend” for their Great Dane, Zooey, who lost her companion earlier in the year.

They met Ripple shortly after and fell in love with the pup. The Edmonton Humane Society confirmed the adoption on Wednesday with a video announcement.

The Paulsons live on three-and-a-half acres — all fenced in — and have a lot of experience with rescue dogs.

“We just can’t wait to start working with him — and teach him some manners, definitely,” laughed Susan.

Shortly after Ripple’s television appearance when viral, Sobel stopped by the shelter to pay his famous costar a visit.
