SoulPancake’s ‘Experiment in Gratitude’ will have you saying thank you

Soulpancake's 'Experiment in Gratitude'

At SoulPancake's "Happiness Laboratory," they tested the theory that expressing gratitude contributes to personal happiness.

"What makes you happy? Have you ever wondered why? Join us as we take an experimental approach on what makes people happier."

They based their experiment on a 2005 study of positive psychology. (Read it here.)

After assessing volunteers' current levels of happiness, SoulPancake "scientists" asked them to write down as much as they could about the most influential people in their lives.

The participants were then asked to call those people and read what they'd written to them.

Watch what happened below.

The experiment's conclusion: happiness levels jump significantly when you express gratitude — especially if you're on the lower end of the happiness scale.
