Stephen Fry conquers fears of heights with bungee-jumping

Stephen Fry is currently filming Peter Jackson's The Hobbit in New Zealand.

On a day off — and "in a moment of pure madness" — the funny man conquered his fear of heights with an adventure of a lifetime, bungee-jumping off the 43-metre-high Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown.

Despite looking terrified in the video, Fry's recounting of the jump was anything but. He wrote on Twitter:

"That's me that is, bungy-jumping. All man. Hencher than hench, butcher than butch. Lean in & smell the testosterone."

Having survived his first jump, he "came back up buzzing" and went again. This time, he was strapped between two AJ Hackett Bungee girls he met on the bridge.

"I did it. Solo and in a sandwich. I'm officially all man," he boasted.

Have you ever taken the (bungee-jump) plunge?
